Project Description

Renal (kidney) associated bone diseases: Individuals with chronic kidney failure may develop a variety of metabolic bone diseases ranging from high bone turnover bone disease (e.g secondary hyperparathyroid bone disease) to low bone turnover bone disease (e.g. osteomalacia or adynamic bone disease).Anyone of these bone diseases can lead to fractures; and a bone biopsy is often needed to make the correct diagnosis.

Each one of these bone diseases can be successfully treated with a spectrum of pharmacological agents.
