Project Description
Kidney stones: Because of Dr. Miller’s Nephrology and metabolism background, he has a strong interest in the causes of kidney stones. Kidney stones develop for a reason: either excess urine calcium, oxalic acid, uric acid; or inadequate urine citric acid. Each of these urinary metabolites can be measured and, if found to be abnormal, adequately treated to reduce the risk of additional kidney stone development.
There may also be links between kidney stones and metabolic bone disease leading to either osteoporosis or osteomalacia.
